What lies beneath the profile photo? (or Yet another heart cake !!! )

In the past few weeks after I included my photo in the profile page, I received a couple of mails from the readers of this blog, asking me if I drew that one out my self. No, I did not, but that cake was made by me last year as a part of “The heart cake tradition” series. T “stylized” the photo using Photoshop, and for those of you who very kindly expressed interest in seeing the original, here it is….
Thank you folks….

Details of the cake

Flowers and leaves are hand piped using royal icing (stamens are store bought- food safe, Wilton product )

T's favorite fruit cake , covered with fondant, decorated with piped butter cream lace work and fondant beads. Finishing touches using luster dust.

Do you make the fondant yourself?
Did you take all the three level courses offered by Wilton?

    KA
Thank You KA, you are very kind ( as always). Yes I make my own fondant. A year ago, when i made this cake, i painstakingly followed the orginal recipe, but then later I discovered the recipe for making Marshmellow fondant ( link given in a pervious post)which is a lot easier to make. Yes, I attended all the 5 , 2 hr classes in course 1, 3 each from course 2 and 3, as my schedule didn’t quite agree with their's for some days, so I just skipped ( evening, too tired, and other excuses). Have you started yours yet? Hope u r having fun !

  35. Archana,
Every cake you made is a work of art!!! I've seen other people make similar cakes, but I mean the artisitic sense of the bakers makes things different! The way you arrange the flowers, the colors you chosen, and the different texture planning... superb! I don't know how difficult to get in working as a professional baker, but you definitely deserve a good position!

    Archana,

    Check this link

    http://malayalam-blogs.blogspot.com/

There are two sections. How to read. So install Anjali. I think you already have anjali since you can read.

Now, then you need to write.Go to the How to Write section. For that, install Mozhi Keymap.

When you isntall it, a small square will be installed on your task bar. If you click it you can make it to Malayalam and just like that start typing and it will become Malayalam in the comment section. For English you can switch it back to English. The beauty of this is you can evensearch in Google in Malayalm, since on IE you can write malayalam directly with MozhiKeymap.

This shows you how to write letters.

Please do let me know if you have any doubts. I am all willing to help you. You can ask the me the sillest doubts...Okay? So dont worry!
